The Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) is the common postgraduate medical entrance exam for admission to MD, MS, MDS, DM (6-year), MCh (6-year), and other notified postgraduate programmes at participating Institutes of National Importance - including AIIMS institutions, JIPMER Puducherry, PGIMER Chandigarh, NIMHANS Bengaluru, and SCTIMST Thiruvananthapuram. INI CET is held twice a year: the November exam decides admission for the January session, and the May exam decides admission for the July session.

How to Apply for INI CET 2027 (January Session)

  1. Visit the official AIIMS examination portal at aiimsexams.ac.in and open the INI CET January 2027 registration link.
  2. Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) with your basic details. Verification through DigiLocker is optional but recommended. Details entered in OTR are used for future exams as well and generally cannot be changed later, so enter them carefully.
  3. Log in and fill out the INI CET application form with your personal, educational, internship, and relevant experience details.
  4. Upload your photograph, signature, and thumb impression in the prescribed format and size.
  5. Select your preferred examination centres.
  6. Pay the applicable category-wise application fee online via credit card, debit card, or net banking.
  7. Review all entered details carefully, then submit the application.
  8. Save and download the confirmation page/printout for future reference.

INI CET 2027 Important Instructions

  • Fill the application carefully - AIIMS generally does not provide an extensive correction facility after final submission, aside from the limited status-check/image-correction window (October 17-19, 2026).
  • The application fee is non-refundable once paid, under any circumstances.
  • Fee payment is accepted only through online modes - no offline/cash payment is allowed.
  • PwBD candidates are exempted from paying the application fee but must still complete registration.
  • Keep checking the official AIIMS examination portal regularly for admit card release, exam city intimation, and any updates or corrigenda to the brochure.
  • Carry the required documents and admit card to the exam centre as per the instructions issued closer to the exam date.
