1) Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2026 is the second edition of the event and will be held from 23 to 25 October, 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The conference is being organised by the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) which represents over 8,000 rice exporters.
‘भारत आंतरराष्ट्रीय तांदूळ परिषद (BIRC) 2026’ ही या कार्यक्रमाची दुसरी आवृत्ती असून, ती 23 ते 25 ऑक्टोबर 2026 या कालावधीत नवी दिल्लीतील ‘भारत मंडपम’ येथे आयोजित केली जाणार आहे. 8,000 हून अधिक तांदूळ निर्यातदारांचे प्रतिनिधित्व करणाऱ्या ‘इंडियन राईस एक्सपोर्टर्स फेडरेशन’ (IREF) द्वारे या परिषदेचे आयोजन केले जात आहे.
2) The Lok Sabha passed Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026 on 6 August 2026. The Bill amends the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, the Income-tax Act, 2025 and the Finance Act, 2026.
लोकसभेने 6 ऑगस्ट2026 रोजी ‘कर आकारणी आणि इतर कायदे (सुधारणा) विधेयक, 2026’ मंजूर केले. हे विधेयक ‘पेमेंट अँड सेटलमेंट सिस्टिम्स ॲक्ट, 2007’, ‘इन्कम-टॅक्स ॲक्ट, 2025’ आणि ‘फायनान्स ॲक्ट, 2026’ मध्ये सुधारणा करते.
3) Hiroshima was the 81st anniversary of the atomic bombing on August 6, 2026. The bombing took place during the Second World War on August 6, 1945. The annual Peace Memorial Ceremony was held in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and the city observed a minute of silence at 8:15 a.m., the time the bomb was dropped in 1945.
6 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी हिरोशिमावरील अणुबॉम्ब हल्ल्याचा 81 वा वर्धापनदिन होता. हा हल्ला दुसऱ्या महायुद्धादरम्यान 6 ऑगस्ट 1945 रोजी झाला होता. हिरोशिमा पीस मेमोरियल पार्कमध्ये वार्षिक ‘शांतता स्मारक सोहळा’ आयोजित करण्यात आला होता आणि 1945 मध्ये ज्या वेळी बॉम्ब टाकण्यात आला होता, त्या सकाळी 8:15 वाजता शहरात एक मिनिटाचे मौन पाळण्यात आले.
4) Air India appoints Tewolde Gebremariam as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director 5 August 2026 He will replace Campbell Wilson, who stands down in April 2026 and will depart on 30 September 2026.
एअर इंडियाने टेवोल्डे गेब्रेमारियम यांची मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (CEO) आणि व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक (MD) म्हणून नियुक्ती केली आहे. ते कॅम्पबेल विल्सन यांची जागा घेतील; विल्सन एप्रिल 2026 मध्ये हे पद सोडतील आणि 30 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी कंपनीतून बाहेर पडतील.
5) Massachusetts proclaimed August 15, 2026, India Day in the state and Boston also made a similar proclamation for August 15, 2026. The celebration falls on the 79th anniversary of India’s independence from British colonial rule in 1947.
मॅसॅच्युसेट्सने 15 ऑगस्ट 2026 हा दिवस राज्यात ‘भारत दिन’ (India Day) म्हणून जाहीर केला आणि बॉस्टननेही 15 ऑगस्ट 2026 साठी अशीच घोषणा केली. हा उत्सव 1947 मध्ये ब्रिटीश वसाहतवादी राजवटीतून भारताला मिळालेल्या स्वातंत्र्याच्या ७९ व्या वर्धापनदिनानिमित्त साजरा केला जाणार आहे.
6) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced on 5 August 2026 that it will resume issuing fresh licences for Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) after a pause of more than two decades. The decision was announced at the August Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting as part of draft guidelines on on-tap licensing of UCBs.
भारतीय रिझर्व्ह बँकेने (RBI) 5 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी जाहीर केले की, दोन दशकांहून अधिक काळाच्या खंडानंतर ती शहरी सहकारी बँकांसाठी (UCBs) नवीन परवाने देण्याची प्रक्रिया पुन्हा सुरू करेल. शहरी सहकारी बँकांच्या ‘ऑन-टॅप’ परवाना प्रक्रियेबाबतच्या मसुदा मार्गदर्शक तत्त्वांचा एक भाग म्हणून, ऑगस्ट महिन्यातील ‘मौद्रिक धोरण समिती’च्या (MPC) बैठकीत हा निर्णय जाहीर करण्यात आला.
7) The Indian Statistical Institute Bill, 2026 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 3 August, 2026. The Bill proposes to repeal the Indian Statistical Institute Act, 1959 and to replace it by a new Act to establish the Indian Statistical Institute as a statutory body corporate.
‘इंडियन स्टॅटिस्टिकल इन्स्टिट्यूट विधेयक, 2026’ हे 3 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी लोकसभेत मांडण्यात आले. या विधेयकाद्वारे ‘इंडियन स्टॅटिस्टिकल इन्स्टिट्यूट कायदा, 1959’ रद्द करण्याचा आणि त्याऐवजी ‘इंडियन स्टॅटिस्टिकल इन्स्टिट्यूट’ची एक वैधानिक निगमित संस्था (statutory body corporate) म्हणून स्थापना करण्यासाठी नवीन कायदा आणण्याचा प्रस्ताव आहे.
8) The Chhattisgarh Cabinet on 5 August 2026 approved the Chhattisgarh State Artificial Intelligence (AI) Mission with an outlay of ₹500 crore. The mission will be for a period of five years and is linked to governance, skill development, technology adoption and expansion of digital economy in the state.
छत्तीसगड मंत्रिमंडळाने 5 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी 500 कोटी रुपयांच्या तरतुदीसह ‘छत्तीसगड राज्य कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (AI) मिशन’ला मंजुरी दिली. हे मिशन पाच वर्षांच्या कालावधीसाठी असेल आणि ते राज्यातील प्रशासन, कौशल्य विकास, तंत्रज्ञानाचा अवलंब व डिजिटल अर्थव्यवस्थेचा विस्तार यांच्याशी जोडलेले आहे.
