ESIC Hospital Tirunelveli Recruitment 2026 Job Description
- Full Time / Part Time Super Specialist: Responsible for all cases undergoing treatment under his supervision in that specialty discipline. Part Time Super Specialists must be available on call 24x7.
- Full Time / Part Time Specialist: Responsible for all cases undergoing treatment under his/her supervision in that specialty discipline. Part Time Specialists must be available on call 24x7.
- Senior Residents (03 Year and 01 Year): Duties will be assigned by the Medical Superintendent, including attending the emergency duties or any other duties assigned by the MS or his representatives. Required to perform such work as may be need in the legitimate interest of patient care.

What Happens on the Day
- Candidates must report at the Conference Hall, 1st Floor, ESIC Hospital, Vannarpettai, Tirunelveli between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM for verification of documents.
- The candidate must submit their duly filled application form along with self-attested document sets to the Medical Superintendent's office during this registration window.
- Candidates who qualify the document verification will appear before the selection board for the walk-in interview.
Important Instructions
- This is a rolling advertisement valid up to 31.12.2026 or till the date of notice of closure, whichever is earlier. Vacancies remaining available will be interviewed on 28.10.2026, 27.11.2026, and 16.12.2026.
- For Super Specialist and Specialist posts, priority will be given for Full Time engagement.
- The contractual appointment for Full Time Super Specialist and Specialist will be for one year, extendable yearly based on satisfactory performance up to three years.
- Part Time Specialists / Super Specialists will be engaged for one year, extendable yearly up to three years (or up to age limit). Working hours will be 16 hours per week (minimum 4 hours per day as assigned by Medical Superintendent). Part-time candidates are not entitled to leave or benefits.
- Engagement of 3-year Senior Residents will be initially for one year extendable on annual basis subject to satisfactory performance up to a maximum period of 3 years. Selected candidate will have to furnish a DD/Bankers Cheque for an amount of Rs. 30,000/- drawn in favour of 'ESIC A/c No 1' payable at Tirunelveli, towards security deposit. If the candidate resigns/terminates contract within 9 months without notice or without one month's notice thereafter, this amount will be appropriated towards administrative cost.
- Engagement of 1-year Senior Residents is for a maximum period of one year or till regular medical officer joins, whichever is earlier. Selected candidate will have to furnish a DD/Bankers Cheque for an amount of Rs. 15,000/- drawn in favour of 'ESIC A/c No 1' payable at Tirunelveli towards security deposit with the same 9-month condition.
- Selected specialist/super specialist must have a professional indemnity policy covering error and omissions: minimum sum assured per annum Rs. 30 Lakhs for Super Specialists; Rs. 20 Lakhs for General Surgeons & Obstetrics; Rs. 10 Lakhs for Dentist, Radiologist, Microbiologist etc. for Specialists. Copy of premium receipt must be submitted within 7 days from the date of engagement.
- Candidates who have worked already as a Senior Resident under 3 years Central Senior Residency Scheme for 3 years are not eligible for applying for the post of Senior Resident.
- No private practice is allowed for Full Time Specialists, Full Time Super Specialists, and Senior Residents. Senior Residents will receive Non-Practicing Allowance.
- Full-time Super Specialists and Specialists are entitled to leave @ 04 days for each month of work on pro-rata basis in a calendar year. Senior Resident (1 Year) will be entitled to 2.5 days leave per month (working).
- Absence from work for a period of 15 days without proper permission of the Competent Authority will amount to abandonment of engagement.
- No TA/DA will be admissible either for the walk-in interview or for joining the post.
- The selected candidate will have to join within 07 days from the date of receipt of the Selection order and sign a contract agreement on Rs. 100/- stamp paper.
- No hostel accommodation/quarters/uniform will be provided.
