GBPUAT Assistant Professor Important Dates

The University has clarified that the earlier Employment Notice A-28/2025 (dated 28.01.2025) for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor, Assistant Librarian, and Assistant Director (Physical Education) posts stands cancelled. Candidates who applied under that earlier notice must submit a fresh application against Employment Notice No. A-31/2026, and their earlier application fee will be refunded.

The 63 vacancies are distributed across seven colleges as follows:

Many of these vacancies carry sub-category (horizontal) reservation such as Uttarakhand Female (UK-F), Physically Handicapped (PH), or Uttarakhand-domiciled candidates (UK). GBPUAT Assistant Professor Eligibility Criteria

College of Agriculture, College of Community Science, College of Basic Sciences & Humanities, and College of Fisheries

• A Master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale) in a concerned, relevant, or allied subject from an Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• The candidate must also have cleared NET conducted by UGC, ICAR, or CSIR, or an equivalent test accredited by UGC such as SLET/SET - OR hold a Ph.D. awarded as per UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 (with certain conditions for candidates registered before 11 July 2009).
• Alternatively, a Ph.D. from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 globally by QS, THE, or ARWU (Shanghai) also satisfies the qualification.

College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

• A basic B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from a college recognized by the Veterinary Council of India, and registration with the State/Central Veterinary Council.
• In addition, the Master's degree (55% marks) plus NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D.-based exemption criteria described above, OR a Ph.D. from a top-500-ranked foreign university/institution.

College of Technology

• As per AICTE Regulation 2019: B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. and M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. (or Integrated M.Tech.) in the relevant branch, with first class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.

College of Agribusiness Management

• As per AICTE Regulation 2019: a Bachelor's degree in any discipline and a Master's Degree in Business Administration / PGDM / C.A. / ICWA / M.Com. with first class or equivalent, along with two years of professional experience after acquiring the Master's degree.

Relaxations

• A 5% relaxation is allowed at both Bachelor's and Master's level for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) and differently-abled candidates for the purpose of eligibility and assessing academic record.
• A 5% relaxation (from 55% to 50%) is provided to Ph.D. degree holders who obtained their Master's degree prior to 19 September 1991.

Selection is carried out in two steps:

Step I: Screening (Academic/Research Score - Maximum 100 Marks)

Based on this score, candidates are shortlisted for interview in a ratio of 10 times the number of vacancies for the first post, followed by 5 times for each additional post in that discipline.

Step II: Interview (Maximum 20 Marks)

Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview, and final selection is based solely on the marks obtained in the interview. The University may also hold a written/qualifying examination or a presentation as part of the process, at its discretion.
